Mono Next CEO Doubles Down on "MONOMAX" Streaming as Digital TV Declines

Navamin Prasopnet, who holds multiple leadership positions at Mono Next Public Company Limited (MONO) including Chairman and Acting CEO, acknowledged the ongoing challenges facing digital TV. He pointed to the inevitable industry-wide decline driven by shifting viewer preferences, the proliferation of entertainment options, technological changes, and economic pressures.

In response to these market shifts, MONO has adopted an “Online-first” approach, with a particular focus on its streaming platform MONOMAX. The company has strengthened this digital push through a strategic partnership with Paramount+, bringing the Hollywood studio’s extensive content library to Thai audiences.

While strengthening its streaming platform and Mono29 channel, the company is making a significant push into original content production. MONO has unveiled ambitious plans to release 24 original movies and series in 2025, headlined by the highly anticipated “Nakee 3.”

When it comes to news coverage on Mono29, Navamin emphasized the channel’s commitment to responsible journalism. Unlike the current trend of sensationalist reporting and manufactured drama, Mono29 will continue to focus on delivering substantive news content that aligns with its core values of creative and constructive programming.

Looking ahead to the expiration of digital TV license in 2029, Navamin expressed cautious interest in participating in future auctions, provided the government maintains its current bidding system. However, he warned that excessive license fees could deter industry players, as they would be business suicide.

Look, we need to wait and see what happens when we get there,"

Are we ready to continue? Absolutely. But this industry changes year by year, and we can't predict the future. All we can do is stay competitive and keep ourselves as ready as possible."
